On Sunday, January 10, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Pierbattista Pizzaballa awarded Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan His Excellency Mr. Csaba Czibere the golden Medal of the Holy Sepulcher in recognition of his personal efforts and the efforts exerted by the friendly country, Hungary, in supporting the institutions of the Latin Patriarchate in Jordan, in addition to the generous contribution designed to complete the building of the Church of the Baptism of Christ at the Baptism Site.

This took place at the Latin Vicariate in Amman within the framework of the first official visit of Patriarch Pizzaballa to Jordan.

In attendance were Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali, Jordanian Consul in Budapest His Excellency Mr. Zaid Naffa’, Chargé d'Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Amman Monsignor Mauro Lalli, His Excellency Dr. Raja’i Mu’asher, His Excellency Mr. Nadim Muasher, and Secretary General of the Latin Vicariate Fr. Imad Alamat and Fr. Adnan Bader.
