Bethlehem University reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact with the successful hosting of the 5th Annual Software Engineering Graduation Project Exhibition on Tuesday, 13 May 2025. Held in the University’s indoor theater, the exhibition was organized by the Department of Technology under the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Technology, and Engineering and attended by numerous IT industry leaders, faculty members, and supporters.

The event opened with the Palestinian national anthem followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs. Dr. Fadi Kattan, Executive Vice President of Bethlehem University, welcomed guests and commended the students and faculty for their outstanding work. He emphasized that the projects on display could go far beyond academic requirements, with the potential to evolve into real market-ready solutions. Dr. Kattan also extended his appreciation to the participating companies who contributed to the evaluation process.

Dr. Ghassan Handal, Dean of the Faculty, described the exhibition as the culmination of four years of rigorous study, creativity, and academic dedication. He highlighted the global relevance of the Software Engineering field, pointing to international studies that identify it as one of the most in-demand disciplines in today’s job market.

Dr. Handal also took pride in the achievements of the first cohort of students from the Computer Simulation in Sciences and Engineering program. These students presented their final projects in Germany and Belgium, under joint supervision from Bethlehem University faculty and distinguished academics at partnering European institutions—showcasing the University’s expanding international collaborations and its impact on global academic platforms.

Dr. Anas Samara, Chairperson of the Department of Technology, remarked that the exhibition is a milestone in the students’ journey—an expression of their perseverance, hard work, and learning within an ever-evolving academic environment. “This is not just an end, but a launching point for these young innovators,” he said. “Our goal is to prepare students to keep pace with rapid technological changes, especially in the era of artificial intelligence and increasing competition in the tech sector.”

As attendees toured the exhibits, students provided in-depth presentations and live demonstrations of their projects, explaining their real-world applications and problem-solving capabilities.

A total of 34 students showcased 12 diverse projects, each addressing practical challenges faced by individuals, businesses, institutions, or the broader community. From AI-powered tools to mobile applications and system design, the projects offered smart technological solutions to complex issues—highlighting the students’ readiness to contribute to Palestine’s digital transformation.

This exhibition not only spotlighted student talent but also exemplified Bethlehem University’s mission to produce ethical, competent, and innovative leaders who are equipped to serve their communities and meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
