Following the outbreak of the ongoing war, Caritas Jerusalem swiftly mobilized its staff and volunteers to respond to the urgent needs of vulnerable communities. As insecurity and disruptions to daily life increased, many elderly individuals found themselves confined to their homes, unable to access essential services or basic necessities.
To address these urgent needs, Caritas Jerusalem organized the delivery of food packages and hot meals to the homes of 75 elderly beneficiaries, many of whom usually attend the Elderly Day Care Center (EDCC). With the temporary disruption of regular activities at the center, the organization ensured that these individuals continued to receive the support and care they rely on.
Beyond providing essential food assistance, these home visits offered comfort, reassurance, and a sense of human connection during a time marked by fear and uncertainty. For many elderly beneficiaries, the presence of Caritas staff and volunteers represents a vital lifeline, ensuring they are not left alone in facing the hardships brought by the ongoing crisis.
Guided by its mission of service and solidarity, Caritas Jerusalem remains committed to accompanying the most vulnerable, responding to emerging needs on the ground and delivering assistance that protects dignity, strengthens resilience, and offers hope in the midst of adversity.
