Jordan: Bishop Twal celebrates the annual Caritas Jordan's Holy Mass

On Thursday, December 11, 2025 Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, celebrated the annual Holy Mass for Caritas Jordan members of staff, marking the approaching of Christmas celebrations. The Holy Mass included a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord for all the efforts exerted throughout the year in serving the needy and in conducting humanitarian work.

 

The Holy Mass was held at St. Mary of Nazareth Church in Sweifieh in the presence of the new Caritas administrative board members--who were having their first meeting with the members of staff--along with Caritas Jordan Director Wael Suleiman, the administrative team, and 280 employees from all Caritas  centers across the Kingdom.

 

In his homily, Bishop Twal underlined the spirituality of Christmas, and called for welcoming the birth of Lord Jesus by promoting love and service to the poor. He stressed the continuation of Caritas' mission, which means "love" and thanked the members of staff for their services and ongoing benevolence, urging them to continue working in a spirit of solidarity to be a living model of Christ's values ​​in serving the community and those in need.

 

Prior to the conclusion of the Holy Mass, Mr. Wael Suleiman thanked Bishop Twal for celebrating the Holy Mass and welcomed the new administrative board. He also thanked the members of staff for their efforts they exert in all the centers, and emphasized the importance of continuing Caritas' humanitarian mission.

 

On the other hand, Fr. Imad Alamat delivered a lecture titled, "Caritas' Service in Light of Christmas: A Reading of the Principles of Church Social Teachings," Later, lunch was served for the attendees.
