As part of a monitoring visit to the Inclusive Media Literacy Education in Palestine (2023–2026) project, Bethlehem University welcomed a delegation from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Implemented by the Institute for Community Partnership (ICP) at Bethlehem University in partnership with the Lifelong Learning Foundation (KVS) and funded by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the initiative was reviewed during a comprehensive site visit to evaluate its ongoing progress and impact.

The visiting delegation, which included H.E. Ambassador Tarja Kangaskorte and Ms. Eva Alarcón, Head of Development Cooperation, met with the project team to examine achievements to date and outline upcoming milestones. Representing Bethlehem University were Dr. Iman Saca, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Khalil Issa, Chairperson of the Department of Arabic; Dr. Hisham; Mr. Moussa Rabadi, Director of the ICP; and project coordinator Maysoun Ramadan. Participating students Sireen and Dareen also attended, sharing firsthand accounts of how the Media Literacy program has enhanced their academic journeys and community involvement.

During the session, the project team delivered an overview of core objectives, key milestones, and planned final activities leading up to the project’s conclusion. Highlights included updates on the Media Literacy course, student-driven community projects, and preparations for the Closing Symposium scheduled for November 26, 2026.

As part of the itinerary, the delegation toured Bethlehem University’s media studio to observe how students translate media literacy concepts into practical application and community-focused initiatives. The visit concluded with a productive dialogue on sustainability and long-term impact, during which the delegation commended the project’s achievements and expressed interest in participating in the upcoming Closing Symposium later this year.
